3 Vietnamese Museums in the Top 25 Most Impressive Museums in Asia

The latest ranking list of Tripadvisor – one of the specialist travel sites popular all over the world – listed 3 names of the museums of Vietnam: The War Remnants Museum, the Vietnam Women Museum, Vietnam Museum of Ethnology. They are the most attractive museums in Asia voted by travelers.

1. The War Remnants Museum, Ho Chi Minh City

Besides the famous names of the museums such as the Museum of soldiers and horses (China) ranked No. 1, the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum (Japan) ranked No. 3, the War Remnants Museum in District 3, Ho Chi Minh City ranked 5th in the list of top 25 Asian Museums.

The museum was founded on September 4th, 1975 with the name of “the American criminal showroom”, and was renamed “the War Remnants Museum” in 1995.

The War Remnants Museum collects, stores, preserves, and displays the documents and artifacts which are the evidence of the crime and the consequences of the war along with the invasion forces caused to the country of Vietnam.

These were the evidence of the heroes of our country during the fight for the national independence, the national defense.

This place stores more than 20,000 documents, artifacts and films. Each year, there are around 500,000 tourists come to visit. The War Remnants Museum is a cultural and tourist destination which is famous for the value of the precious content, existing at the time.

2. The Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, Hanoi

Ranked No. 6 in this list, the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology is praised for being the place where the nation is retracted, the history to the life. The museum collects, preserves, stores, restores, displays and introduces the value of the history, culture of Vietnam.

The museum preserves and displays a lot of cultural artifacts of 54 ethnic groups, including 15,000 artifacts, 45,000 documentary films, color pictures and thousands of other documents. The artifacts are classified and displayed for the different contents in the Trong Dong building, where tourist can explore the life of the ethnic groups through their daily tools.

3. The Vietnam Women Museum, Hanoi

The Vietnam Women Museum, Hanoi was ranked No. 11 in the list of top 25 Asian Museum. This place stores the historical artifacts, culture, arts related to women of Vietnam.

The exhibition area of 2,000m2 and the system of the storage of more than 25,000 documents, artifacts, and the museum reflects the contributions of the Vietnamese women in the history and the contemporary life.
